tune in thursday - the clash

This is one of my all time fave songs from the clash.

Two of my kiddos are still recovering from the flu and truth
be told the gp and I are a little exhausted. Losing an
hour hasn't helped and I can't seem to keep up with anything, its
like I'm an hour behind in my life. Everyone slept in this morning
and my eldest kiddo was late for school by 1½hr.

I have a few new goodies to add to the shop but I can't seem
to find the time to take pics. Speaking of pics...I'm really struggling
with photography right now. In my eyes this is the best the shop
has ever looked but I don't feel like the mood I want is there.
I'm blaming it on my camera, which is a new Canon power-shot
with lots of bells and whistles and yet my pics are lacking...
HELP ME...lol

Have an awesome day!!

Crushing On - Carolyn Cochrane Photography!!

Seriously crushing on Carolyn Cochrane's photography...there's such a silent mood to some of her work!!
Remember how I almost didn't get to take advantage of cyber Monday?
By the time I finally got into one of my fave shops
I had only a few minutes before midnight to buy this»

It came in the mail yesterday and I was blown away with the packaging and all of the
extra goodies it came with including a personal note....AWESOME!!
My friends - run don't walk to this shop!!
Now, excuse me as I'm off to buy a frame!

Hope your week is going well so far.  I was crazy busy yesterday with getting
a few orders out...so much fun, it's such a fun time of year!
Thanks to all of you who've stumbled into the shop over the last few days.
I really appreciate you guys/gals spending some time with me and finding items
for your loved ones...cheers!!

Have a winter wonderland Wednesday!

Quiet Moments

These photos by photographer Vivienne Mok remind me of those quiet moments in our daily lives that we forget to take advantage of because we're moving so fast. Our alarms goes off and we jolt out of bed to attack the day before it attacks us.

When given the chance to enjoy these quiet moments I often come up with some of my best ideas. A few Sunday's ago, I lingered in bed for a while and came up with a logo* for GRIMM & GRETE. How's that for taking advantage of a quiet moment?

Have a fantastic weekend!

Canada Post Pathos

It is with a heavy heart that I have to close my shop doors until further notice.  Canada Post has locked out its workers until a settlement can be reached.  Hopefully, this can get both sides back to the negotiating table. I hope it's VERY soon and both parties walk away content with a new collective agreement.

All day I've been fighting a deep and beckoning pathos. I feel like 'rose' in this beautiful fine art photography by Erin Tyner.  Looking for answers or trying to find something that seems to be very far away and desperately out of reach.

don't forget your swimsuit!

This month's Vogue Italia May 2011 features a swimsuit editorial photographed by Steven Meisel, starring Kristen McMenamy.  A melancholy atmosphere has floated into the Hotel Chelsea and made the models a little moody.  So instead of hitting the beach in their fab swim wear they're just going to wallow in it for a while.

By the way, after my grumpy prince read last weeks 'tune in thursday' post he went on a mad search for my Prentenders Greatest hits cd.  It took him 2 days to find; it was putting on a performance for his geeky window's 2000 disc.

Have a stimulating weekend!

The Killing Moon

This series of photographs by Stefan Giftthaler is so elegant, pure and delicate.  The casting of light reminds me of the mystical nature of moonlight and the romance it offers us each night.  These photos capture such beautiful moments, it's mesmerizing.

Hope you have a magnificent weekend!  We have an extra long weekend.  The musketeers are off from school today and monday is Queen Victoria Day (this is our may 2-4 weekend).  No major plans yet, just to relax a lot!
