Happy Tuesday friends!

It rained all day yesterday which made for a very fun outing. I love
the rain and walking around in it made me love it even more.

Here's a pic of some of the 'bling' I picked up yesterday. Now I'm off to work
some of my magic. I'm like a kid in a candy store (and trust me when
I say this, I have three of them they go CRAZY) super excited to
start designing and creating.

New In the Shop

I added THE THREE FEATHERS necklace to the shop yesterday.  It's made with Italian lambskin

leather in metallic gold and silver.  A colour combination that's perfect for the holiday season.  The name

of this necklace comes from a fairy tale from who else but the Grimm brothers!! 

Yesterday was such a beautiful day in the city.  I escaped the tower and dragged two of the musketeers

downtown to Queen Street to pick up some supplies. So there will be more new items added over

the next little while - stay tuned!!

In the Shop - Purple Leather Feather Necklace!!

Urban, bohemian, chic....

I added this ultra hip leather feather necklace to the shop yesterday.  Hand cut from supple Italian leather with shimmers of gold this double bonded feather hangs from a gold plated ball chain and closes with a classic GRIMM & GRETE large gunmetal lobster clasp.


The Bills added another game to their WIN column with an eventful shutout against the Washington Redskins yesterday!!!  It must have been the positive win vibes the grumpy prince and I were putting out and maybe the Toronto field at the Rogers Centre that helped...lol   We are now tied for 1st place in our division, thanks to the Pittsburgh Steelers, yeah!!

Happy Halloween...this year we have: the Devil, Cinderella and a Cop which is kind of fitting ;)

In the Shop - Bijou Leather Tassel Charm Necklace!!

Bijou our charm necklace for the holiday season hit the shop shelves this weekend.  The original design has been altered since their 'sneak peek' post a couple of weeks ago. Originally this charm necklace was supposed to be a cluster of gems and stones. However, it was all too delicate so I added the tassel and took away some of the gems and I loved how that one element changed the look and vibe of the necklace. But I didn't trust the thread material to hold up over time and I didn't like the way it was fraying. So I used a  gorgeous metallic gold/silver lambskin  leather to give the tassel more durability and it totally adds an eclectic vibe to the necklace.

The Bills are in town this weekend!!  I know you're asking "why aren't you at the game?" the answer is tixs were a small kings ransom..lol  Truth be told this season is a complete fluke, we had no idea the bills were planning on winning some games this season and would be so exciting to watch for a change.

Will GRIMM Watch The New GRIMM Show?

A while back the grumpy prince alerted me to a new t.v. show (I wasn't really listening and thought I heard movie) was coming this fall. Now because I didn't listen, I thought wow; another movie based on the Grimm Brothers. Then I started to see all the promos for the 'show' and thought a movie and a tv show, wow x2!!  Then recently I said to the grumpy 'a GRIMM movie and a tv show what are the odds?'  Then he said something and said something again and I thought #$%@ I should be listening....and so I did and then everything was cleared up..lol

So the tv show called GRIMM,  premiers tonight and I'm kind of excited to see what it's all about.  From the trailer the mood looks good and dark, the special effects look interesting and the modern storytelling loosely based on GRIMM fairy tales, could be lots of fun.  So in case you were all wondering; 'will GRIMM watch GRIMM the answer is 'hell yeah!!'

new arrival - urban bohemian earrings!!

These elegant little earrings just made their way into the shop.  Full of urban allure these delicate bohemian earrings will add an elegant charm to any collection.

These little beauties were created with garnet and pyrite gems and dangle from darkened leverback earwire. I  darkened the leverbacks but polished some areas for added charm. I love the urban bohemian vibe of these earrings.

How's your wishful Wednesday going?  This is always the best time of the day for me.  All my 'keteers' are home and we all hang out at the dinner table doing homework, playing and/or snacking...it's really nice family time.

crushing on - G&G's brand!!!

Well my friends GRIMM & GRETE just got branded!!  Perhaps you've noticed that single hearted wing that moved in about a few months ago and hasn't left. Which means a lot for me, because I can be known for changing my mind a lot...a lot.  So now that it's here to stay let's talk about my 'heart & soul logo'.

It came from my intense desire to find a logo that would represent GRIMM & GRETE now and into the future. It's a combination of my signature ♥ and an angels wing.  Using our fingers on the mouse pad, it took me and the grumpy prince an entire Sunday morning to get the image just right. The heart was easy but that wing...wow.  I was finally able to steady my hand long enough to get from a swiggly line to a more controlled line.  To be honest that wing is a fluke and I may not ever get it to look this way again.

A month ago I decided to make a commitment to my 'heart & soul' and ordered a custom stamp.  I found AsspocketProductions on Etsy for a starter kit. It wasn't easy to get her an image she could work with because we've blown it up so much from the original that she wasn't getting a very detailed image. With fingers crossed we sent her our last hope of the original image in the size she needed and a brand was born!!

I received the stamp in the mail yesterday and was very anxious not knowing if it would provide all the little details of my 'heart & soul' logo. Boy was I pleasantly surprised,  it's 'PERFECT!!'

So from now on at GRIMM & GRETE each order will receive a little piece of my 'heart & soul'♥

I'm very excited about our 'Mythologies Collection' for autumn 2011!!  I love the abundance of mythologies that slice through various cultures and religions in an attempt to help us understand the mysteries of the universe and never ending questions of mans' purpose and meaning in life.  How can you not fall in love with those powerful stories of passion, tragedy, heroism and war?

Tune in Thursday - Charlotte Gainsbourg

Love the super cool look and feel of this video by Charlotte Gainsbourg. I guess what would you expect from the daughter of Jane Birkin (whom the 'birkin' bag from Hermès is named after) and Serge Gainsbourg (French singer songwriter).

Yippee, some of my supplies have arrived (Etsy suppliers, I've only had to go outside of Etsy a few times) and I'm very excited about my fall collection.  Hopefully, I'll have some new items in the shop starting next week.  My collection is going to be called 'mythologies' based on my love of Greek mythology.

See all that gold, don't worry it will be tamed by gunmetal, we are GRIMM & GRETE after all.
