crushing on - fortnight lingerie

over the holidays i got myself fitted and treated my 'girls' to a nice retirement plan.
they did such an awesome job nurturing my three musketeers that i felt it was the least i could do.
so now i find myself looking at/for beautiful lingerie, trust me it's well worth the $$$.
fortnight lingerie is based out of toronto and they've got some pretty awesome pieces.

the kids came home from camp yesterday happy and exhausted - très bien!!
the weather is gorgeous and it seems like spring is on her way.
hope tuesday warms you with sunshine.

Queen West

I did manage to make my way down to Queen Street West (Queen West) on Friday.  It's the mecca for all things cool, fashionable and trendy and it's very close to Spadina Street which is our fashion district. Queen West is where the trendsetters used to roam (goth, punks, mods) but now it's become more trendy with stores like h&m, american apparel, gap etc. You can still find independent thinkers, great indie design shops, cool second hand and antique shops, but in general there's a different feel to Queen Street.

This area is also known for its supplies stores: jewelry supplies, art supplies, yarn, fabric, ribbons, buttons, lace.  Anything you can think of creating you can find supplies for it here; with the exception of leather supplies which is found on King Street West.  I started shopping here for jewellery supplies when I was in high school (so a hundred years ago) and it's still my main destination for supplies. There are a lots of stores to chose from and they offer a great selection of materials to fit every price point.

The SUV coming out of the building is the MuchMusic Building; if you're big in music this is where you hang!

It's supposed to be crazy hot today, but it's very cool in the tower right now.

Have a magnificent Monday!

Tune in Thursdays - Magneta Lane

Truth be told the last concert I saw was Magneta Lane and it was only because it was part of a Toronto street festival.  The city of Toronto used to host these amazing themed street festivals at major downtown/uptown intersections in the city. Our intersection hosted some indie acts and kids amusement rides.  I only had 2 musketeers at the time and my girl musketeer was barely walking.

On our way home we just happened to stumble into the main stage and saw them playing.  I couldn't believe my luck; so there we were in the middle of the street with me singing and dancing my butt off.  It was crazy cool! Their latest cd is 'Gambling with God' and if you are into girl bands that rock, you will not be disappointed.

This is my fave song by them, hope you enjoy!

Have a rocking Thursday!

crushing on - jackets

Tis' the season to wear jackets and Smythe a talented Toronto based duo make jackets that always offer something that's cutting edge. Anything from unique fabrics, figure flattering cuts, cool details at the back, stylish elbow patches,  a ruffle or an extra pocket on one side; these jackets will get you noticed!!

Here's a glimpse of their spring collection 2011.

It will only be a matter of time til I own one of these jackets.

Have a tripping tuesday.
